| Listing / Photo Guide |
|
|
When it comes to getting the most out of your listings a few rules apply:
•
|
Quality photos sell art, this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of your listing. Please read through the full photo guide below to ensure your listing has quality photos. |
•
|
COMPLETE AND ACCURATE LISTINGS WILL RESULT IN SALES. Incomplete or inaccurate listings will solicit questions not sales. Please take your time when you go through the listing form. ALL of the questions on the listing form are the exact questions our buyers want answered BEFORE they will make an offer. |
•
|
If you are listing a limited edition print or sculpture and are unable to take photos please go ahead and submit the listing, we will provide photos from file. |
•
|
Pricing is also important. Please remember this is the secondary market and nobody pays retail. If your asking price is at or close to retail, your listing is probably overpriced. |
|
| Original Paintings |
1. |
We will need photos of all original art before we can approve the listing. |
2. |
Original art is photographed better in outside natural light. If that is not possible we ask that you do the best you can and try to avoid the glare. Try to show the texture if this is a painting. |
3. |
Include at least 1 photo that shows the entire piece and frame within the boundaries of the photo. |
4. |
The higher the resolution/quality the better (up to 3000 pixels X 3000 pixels accepted). Quality photos will allow us to show detail, and will result in a faster sale. |
5. |
When listing original art please include photos of any paperwork you have (certificate of authenticity, original bill of sale, letter from the artist, etc). Art Brokerage will black out any pricing/personal information from these documents and include them in your listing. If you have paperwork we need photos. |
6. |
If possible please include a photo of the verso (reverse) of the painting. |
7. |
If your original art is signed please include 1 close-up of the signature. |
8. |
If your art is framed with glass or plexiglass please try to take the photos at a slight angle to avoid capturing any glare. |
|
| Limited Edition Prints |

Art Brokerage has many photos on file for limited edition prints. If your print is from a major artist, is in mint condition, and is not framed there is no need to include any photos with your listing (unless you have higher quality photos than what we already have on file). |
