Art BrokerageMark Hopkins bronze sculptures are in every way a reflection of its creator. Hopkins subjects are as numerous and varied as his interests – wildlife, history, children, fantasy, sports, music, etc. With a style so flowing and alive it has been called “bronze in motion,†the work is as passionate and expressive as the man. It has taken half a lifetime to achieve such prominent status. For many years, there was mostly struggle and discouragement. The necessity of providing for his family frequently took Mark off course into other vocations. Always, though, his heart yearned to return to the work he knew he was born to do. Mark’s artistic ability began to develop early in his childhood, first with drawing and painting. Then, in his early teens, with the encouragement of a caring school teacher, he discovered sculpture. From the moment of that discovery, sculpture has been his passion. In the more than 30 years since, this passion has become a thriving professional career.
In addition to his skill as an artist, Mark made himself a technical expert in “lost wax†bronze casting. In 1988, he established Mark Hopkins Sculpture, Inc., a bronze foundry nestled in the foothills of the northwest Georgia mountains. There he brought together a talented group of skilled craftsmen, many of whom are artists in their own right.
This core group has been involved with the production of Mark’s work from the beginning of the company. With many collective years of experience, this expert team can insure that each sculpture represents the highest in quality, craftsmanship, and beauty. They make it possible to offer sculpture for extraordinary prices, available to people who never thought they could afford fine art.
