    Story / Additional InfoLove Letters is a monumental ceramic two-part sculpture, a double tetrahedron X and a three revolution infinity ring O. The sculpture’s vibrant surface has a copper and iron oxide patina.
A powerful, iconic symbol, Love Letters expresses a message that everyone immediately understands: the universal theme of Love. As we usually see xo small, accompanying a loved one’s signature in a card or letter, the unexpected monumental size and easy-to-read symbolism of Love Letters makes an especially powerful visual impact.
The X is made of two tetrahedron triangles. Long symbolic of a kiss, X was an early antecedent of the acronym SWAK, “sealed with a kiss”, which became popular during World War I for soldiers to write on their letters to loved ones at home. The circular infinity ring form of the O has its own special legend. Some believe that O came to symbolize a hug as it represents an embrace of two pairs of arms hugging.
