He was 6 years old when civil war broke out in Spain. At thirteen, Antonio had to leave school to work. As a teenager, he demonstrated a flair for drawing. At 17, he left to join his father's leather goods, exiled in Tunisia, with whom he remained until 1956. Collado keeps intact his passion for drawing and executes sets for several associations. He exhibited his first works. Meanwhile, in 1955, he was sent to France to participate in the championship gymnastics team, and then discovered both Paris and the Louvre, which decides to return in 1956 and stay there.
