Art Brokerage: Christine Gedye American Artist: Christine Gedye is inspired by the landscapes of her everyday life, but the real subjects of her paintings are light and atmosphere. She states, "those exquisite moments of fleeting illumination that fill me with renewed awe for familiar terrain. Because modern urban life is hectic, stressful and noisy, I seek to create paintings that deliver an antidote: landscapes that convey harmony and serenity, paintings that inspire appreciation for the moment." Most of Gedye's training has been at Seattle's prestigious Gage Academy, with a year at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, Australia. She also draws inspiration from her artistic forebears including Jean Baptiste Corot, George Inness, William Merit Chase, Sanford Robinson Gifford and Mark Rothko. Listings wanted.
