Art Brokerage: Eugene Morelli American Artist: Eugene Morelli, of Montana, began sculpting in 1980 after graduating from the University of Montana with a degree in Biology. A fine furniture and musical instrument maker, he created his first sculptures from wood, and later hand-wrought bronze and silver and limited editions bronzes were added to his repertoire. These colorful and intricately detailed bronzes are collected throughout the United States and around the world. Eugene Morelli's bird sculptures have won numerous awards in national and international competition. In addition, his art was chosen by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum for their "Birds in Art" exhibition. His extensive knowledge of wild birds and animals, gained from extensive study of his subjects in the field, provide him accuracy and detail, which he combines with impressionistic textures. His goal is to convey both realism and his own feelings by capturing motion, the essence of each species depicted, and his own joy and excitement with the subject.
