Art Brokerage: Jaylene Russell American Artist: Jaylene Russell is American artist who began painting later in life. She is self-taught and uses all types of mediums from mosaic to abstract art. Teaching acrylic classes to small groups while still experimenting and painting mostly landscapes from photos and images she discovered the art of impasto. While studying the arts of the world-renowned artist Jennifer Vranes for heavy textured and life like works Jaylene has developed her own unique style of the art and color that comes to life on canvas. Living her entire life in eastern Oklahoma Jaylene has continued to be inspired by the endless natural canvases of the breath taking landscapes. Jaylene uses real life and photographic references to create one of a kind art that can never be duplicated. . Her signature style has emerged using textured acrylics. Her paintings are impressionable and it feel as though you could touch the bark on the trees or the petals of the flowers. Jaylene was chosen to be 1 of 5 artists showcased at the Edmond Oklahoma Artisan Show in the summer of 2021. She continues her work from a home studio creating commissions and one of a kind projects.
