Lindy Schillaci

Art Brokerage: Lindy Schillaci American Artist: Texas artist Lindy Bailey Schillaci has had a passion for painting and drawing since she can remember. There was never a question of what she wanted to be when she grew up. She always knew she'd make her way as an artist. In her early years on the Texas Gulf Coast, she was privately tutored in painting. Later she studied with noted Bay Area Artist Evelyn Stebbins. She attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, graduating with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. She then moved to Austin, where she worked and lived among other artists. She headed to New York City in the mid-'80s, where she attended Parsons School of Design, while working in an Upper Eastside gallery and contracting calligraphy jobs to support herself. In 1991, she returned to Texas. There, she paints dramatic, colorful abstracts and stunning still lifes. In recent years, she has begun doing pet portraits, which helps support her passion and love of rescue dogs. She studied with artists David Leffell and Albert Handell, focusing on still life and plein-air landscape painting. She has sold a multitude of paintings across the nation at various shows, by commission and through several galleries where her work is currently displayed. Listings wanted
