Philip Pearlstein

Born in 1924 Philip Pearlstein was a leading figure of the naturalism revival that took place in the mid-20th century as a reaction to Abstract Expressionism. Pearlstein's early works consisted mostly of landscapes, but after the 1960's Pearlstein began painting realistic nude figures in domestic settings.
