Inspired by his mother's sacrifice and encouragement, Phillips cultivated his passion for art by attending the prestigious Houston Museum of Fine Art School, now known as the Glassell School of Art. As an adult, Phillips explored the creative challenges of graphic design by producing ad campaigns, posters, t-shirts, logos, and company brands as Partner/Creative Director for a successful marketing firm in Houston.
