Art Brokerage: Tony Sheets American Artist: Tony Sheets, the son of a noted American artist, Millard Sheets, grew up surrounded by artists. He worked in many of their studios from a young age, learning many of the processes of art, as well as an understanding of the business of art.Tony Sheets continues his diverse career with sculpture commissions in progress, collaborative ventures, painting commissions and paintings for fun and personal growth. He added Copper Repousse, pounded metal sculptures, to his arsenal of art a few years ago and it has now become one of his personal favorites. These pursuits are balanced with family and community needs, continuing to bring much personal satisfaction. Over the last 44 years of self-employment, Sheets has completed commissions in California, Arkansas, Hawaii and Texas. He has worked in varying materials, such as cast, pounded repousse fabricated metals, cast stone, poured concrete (tilt-up and poured in place), applied sand and cement, GFRC (Ground Fiber Reinforced Cement) and resins. Each new commission has necessitated a working relationship with the client, whether they are a private developer or a public agency. These collaborative efforts have resulted in over 50 sculptures and murals, since 1972. The scale of the work ranges from tabletop sculptures to a sculpture mural 37 ft. wide by 66 ft. high. From paintings hung on the walls of collectors, to murals in business and banking institutions. Listings wanted.
