Signed in the plate, numbered in pencil from the edition of 499, Dry stamp of the editeur "Cahiers d'Art, Paris published by the famous editeur Christian Zervos "The drawings from the 1930s are considered by the master to be his greatest masterpieces. These drawings represent women reclining on backgrounds decorated with fabrics adorned with arabesques and are miracles of pure lines that best enclose the sphere of female sensuality. In the reflections and mirrors, Matisse seems to want to imprint the soul of his models in the finest and most virtuous lines." The first and only edition was made by the famous Cahiers d'Art publishing house in 1960 on precious handmade Japon washi paper.
