Art Brokerage: Aleksander Lozovoy Russian Artist: b. 1949. Alexander Lozovoy was born in Russia in 1949. His parents were closely connected with Russian culture and art. His paintings have been often exhibited both in Russia and abroad, and his works have been acquired by art collectors from many countries of the world. Alexander Lozovoy is currently the only living Russian artist who took classes directly from the Russian avant-garde masters of the beginning of the XX century. His principal teacher was Barbara Bubnova (1886 – 1983), who worked and participated in exhibitions together with V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich, P. Filonov, A. Rodchenko among other famous Russian painters of this epoch. In his paintings Lozovoy uses some techniques and secrets inherited from the old Russian icon school. His canvases are painted by the application of tiny brushstrokes of different colors which do not merge together thus producing the general effect of extreme brightness and clarity. Since the chemical elements of the pigments do not interact with each other the natural colors are fully preserved in his works. Listings wanted.
