Art Brokerage: Alex Kanevsky Russian/American Artist: b. 1963. Alex Kanevsky, was born in Rostvo-na-Donu, Russia, in 1963, moving to the United States with his family in 1983. He studied mathematics at Vilnius University in Lithuania before coming to the United States. After his arrival to the U.S., he worked as a Russian translator, illustrator at the Psychiatric Nursing Magazine and drew pictures for telephone book advertisements. After attending Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (1989-93) and winning a Pew Fellowship (1997), he devoted himself to painting full time. Kanevsky has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group shows throughout the United States, Canada, Italy, UK and Ireland. Listings wanted.
