Purchased in 2023 from a prominent auction house, this is an Original Large Format, 1st Edition of Interview Magazine from July 1986. The full and complete Andy Warhol signature is present. This issue features actress Catherine Oxenberg, best known for her role on the TV show Dynasty and her portrayal of Princess Diana. The complete issue is present. Not missing any pages. The issue is newly conservation-framed and ready to hang.
Story / Additional InfoIf the first half of Andy Warhol's career centered on his studio "The Factory", the second half of his career clearly centered on his active involvement with his magazine "Interview". Andy was known to sign copies of the magazine at Studio 54, on the streets of Manhattan for fans and as gifts to friends and media acquaintances. He would even sign copies for new subscribers to the magazine. In works like this Catherine Oxenberg cover, Warhol took portraits of recognized personalities and turned them into remarkable pieces of Pop Culture, that cemented Warhol's place in art history. These signed copies of Interview are now highly coveted and collectible.

Died 1987.Obsessed with celebrity and consumer culture, Pop artist Andy Warhol created some of the most iconic images of the 20th century. Warhol was the most successful and highly paid commercial illustrator in New York even before he began to make art destined for museums and major collections.Andy Warhol would use many mediums to produce art: video, sculpture, painting, and printmaking. He extensively used screen printing from 1962 to 1987.At the start of the 1970s Andy Warhol began publishing Interview magazine and renewed his focus on painting.
