Story / Additional InfoThere is a story associated with the selection of the image of Kimiko Powers for this poster. Contemporary Pop Art collectors and art patrons John and Kimiko Powers commissioned Andy Warhol to do a portrait of Kimiko in 1972. The screen print was selected in 1981 to advertise Warhol's show at Colorado State University. It was one of 250 posters printed in support of the Warhol exhibit and the visual arts program at CSU. Andy Warhol and Kimiko Powers were on campus together during the Warhol exhibit and held an autograph session for those attending the show. The Warhol exhibition and visit would not have happened without the active participation of John and Kimiko Powers. Out of the edition of 250 posters, approximately are 100 signed.

Andy Warhol. American. Born Andrew Warhola 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. Died 1987.Obsessed with celebrity and consumer culture, Pop artist Andy Warhol created some of the most iconic images of the 20th century.
