Brian Corr
United StatesArt Brokerage: Brian Corr American Glass Artist: A Colorado native, Brian began working with glass in 1995 at Hastings College, where he had intended to study Communications and play baseball. Discovering his passion in a glassblowing elective taught by Professor Tom Kreager, he changed his direction and majored in Studio Arts with an Emphasis in Glass. After receiving his Bachelors degree from Hastings, Brian worked, studied and taught throughout the US and abroad. During this time, he spent three pivotal years working and teaching at the Corning Museum of Glass. He moved to Australia in 2005 to pursue his Masters degree from the Australian National University in Canberra. Since completing his Masters in 2007, Brian has exhibited internationally and his work has been included in numerous public and private collections throughout the world. Brian and his wife Alana have recently returned to Australia after spending a year in South Korea where Brian was an associate professor in the Department of Environmental Art and Design at Namseoul University. Working primarily with glass and the elements of light and shadow, volume and void, he creates architectonic sculpture and large-scale installations which serve as reflections and interpretations of his own experience. His hope is that these works provide an opportunity for contemplation or meditation; a moment of heightened awareness of the nature and wonder of ourselves and the world in which we exist.
