Burton Morris - United States
Art Brokerage: Burton Morris American Artist: Burton Morris is an artist/illustrator who has captured the notice of art lovers throughout the country. Developing a style uniquely his own, his personality glows in every piece of work. With bright and exotic coloring, the works spontaneously express a lively curiosity. Since his debut in 1990, the 32 year old entrepreneur's client list reads like the stock exchange: Anheuser Busch, American Express, Mitsubishi, Coca-Cola, Sony, AT&T Enterprises, MacDonalds and many others. An activist for charitable causes, Morris has donated artwork for auctions and events held by charities such as the Race for the Cure, Art for AIDS, Muscular Dystrophy, and the national Hadassah chapter. Burton Morris' description of his style is that it "has the feel of old woodcut engravings, but with a colorful twist." Walk into any room with a Morris painting on the wall and your are instantly enamored by the playful spirit the paintings exude. From the age of three Morris has been no stranger to bending shoulders over a drawing pad or creating with a brush in hand. His classes early on at the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania led to his eventual 1986 BFA in design and illustration from Carnegie Mellon University's art program. Recently Morris has entered into the menswear industry signing a necktie licensing agreement with Zanzara International Ltd. of Chicago. Zanzara is considered one of the most successful manufacturing, licensing, marketing and distribution companies in high-end neckwear. Currently Zanzara holds agreements with premier designers such as Jhane Barnes and Ike Behar. This is just the beginning of what is intended to be the start of a complete menswear collection for Morris. And, being the entrepreneur artist of the 90's, this is yet another stepping stone into a successful endeavor for Burton Morris. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
