Chloe Lamb

Art Brokerage: Chloe Lamb British Artist: b. 1960. Chloë Lamb is a contemporary painter whose luscious abstract oils veer into the realm of figurative representation. Her style is influenced by the gestural, expressionist works of Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse, and Ivon Hitchens. Lamb builds her compositions through an improvisational mark-making technique, wherein each of her compositions is determined according to the form and hue of the first mark she makes on the canvas. Lamb paints wet on wet; her vivid imagination takes form via large brushstrokes, linear twists and turns, and rhythmic blocks of color. Her goal is for viewers to take pleasure in the sensuousness of her canvases instead of digging for deeper meaning behind them. Lamb attended the Heatherley School of Fine Art and studied under Robin Child at the Lydgate Art Research Centre. She exhibits regularly in the U.S. and the U.K. Listings wanted.
