Art Brokerage: Claire Fontaine French-Canadian Artist: Claire Fontaine is a French-Canadian artist, born in Quebec City. At a young age she developed a strong artistic sense and a very strong knowledge as colorist which was further refined through her many trips across Europe. Her travels brought her passion for art with the most renowned artists in Europe, where she took part in numerous master classes. She also devoted her studies to face morphology and has published work on the subject. For the past ten years, she has been perfecting her painting techniques and applies her pictorial knowledge to draperies as well as visual composition from the great modern masters. Claire eventually refined her skills to focus mainly on oil paintings, where she turned her attention to flowers, and became a specialist on the subject. The process involved in creating a painting requires long hours of research. In early the stage of production, Claire spends much time preparing her paintings by observing scenery at different parks and botanical gardens, seeking inspiration. Through photography she explores different angles and various possible compositions for her paintings. Moreover, she works out the contrast, lighting and volume transposition. Finally, the painting process requires a progressive application of oil paint in order to replicate the translucency existing in nature. Claire's surrealism is the combination of a rich color palette, a dynamic composition and attention to detail. Claire's ever-growing passion for painting motivates her to explore different applications of the medium, each time refining and evolving her own style. Her artistic pathway reveals an undeniable elegance and exhibits a distinct perspective of flowers. She was exhibited in Louvre Museum in Paris in 2009 . Claire was awarded Grand Academician painter in 2011 ( The level just before to be awarded Master and Great Master painter in Francophonie ) .
