Claude Sauzet
FranceArt Brokerage: Claude Sauzet French Artist: b.1941. Claude Sauzet, French painter, studied drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Nîmes. He moved to Paris for more than twenty years. It is in his studio that he redraws the sketches executed from the original life. On the bases of a strong outline, colours and light take the foremost place. His colors, always warm, ochres mixed with reds and browns, tinted with a hint of green or blue, recall his Mediterranean origins. His compositions seem purely fantasy, but they come from everyday life viewed through the eye of the artist. He is interested in all the subjects: crowds in markets or carnivals, woman in the intimacy of a room, villages in the South of France burnt by the sun, harmonius compositions of flowers or fruits. With themes constantly renewed, his painting delights the sight and entrances the spirit in a universe of dreams. As a great draftsman and an exceptional colorist, Claude Sauzet takes part in the great adventure of painting achieving works full of poetry and music that enlighten our heart. The idealized female figure is sublimated in symbolic compositions where she appears either in the intimacy of a room, against the full light of a garden or in a complete abstract environment. Whatever the subject, his paintings are rendered in warm colors of yellows and oranges contrasted with pastel tones of emerald and lavender in which the light of the south of France predominates. Claude Sauzet is a member of Salon d'Automne, Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Salon des Artistes Français and received many prizes and awards.
