Dave White

Art Brokerage: Dave White British Artist: b. 1971. Dave White draws inspiration from popular culture and wildlife to create large and colourful oil paintings and limited edition prints. Interested in the struggle of survival the artist is best known for his animal series in which endangered species are painted with expressive and dynamic brushstrokes, a style reminiscent of 1950s Abstract Expressionism. White has had major exhibitions in London and on the international art fair circuit. He has also shown work alongside David Hockney and Picasso at Sotheby's Blue Cross Centenary exhibition. White's international highlights have subsequently included the People's Square Exhibition Hall (Shanghai), Dia Art Centre (New York), Centre for Arts (Rotterdam), and Art Basel (Miami). White is also recognized for his long and standing relationship with brands Nike and Jordan. He pioneered the 'Sneaker Art' movement of 2002, creating pop art inspired portraits of trainers. His work has continued to be admired by major brands. In 2018, White created a hand painted Rhino for Tusk which was auctioned at Christies alongside works by Marc Quinn, Gavin Turk and The Chapman Brothers. Listings wanted.
