Art Brokerage: Deborah Appleby American Glass Artist: In her work she has tried to use glass' natural properties in a way that lends itself to the realization of her design. She selects aesthetic and structural properties that go with rather than against the grain of glass. She choose imagery and form inspired by the movement of water and structure of flora in an effort to accentuate nature's harmony with the physical tendencies of glass. When making formal decisions which concern aesthetic structure, she draws on elements of my environment that embody some of the naturally occurring aspects of glass. She looks at water and the ocean for color and optical effect and she also looks at flora for form and shape. Listings wanted.
