Debra Sievers - United States
Art Brokerage: Debra Sievers American Artist: Debra Sievers, a native of a small town in California, began creating art at a very young age. In response to the rural isolation of her childhood home and with the trees and animals as her companions, she created her own world of beauty and magic - daily recording her life and experiences in sketches and paintings. A gifted child, Debra consistently surpassed her teachers expectations and skipped eighth grade altogether. She entered high school full of rebellion, changing schools and leaving home at the age of sixteen. After graduating, she began her travels, living in Europe for a time to complete her formal art education. She began that education at the Philadelphia College of Art, continued in New York at the Art Students League and National Academy of Art. Her studies with several contemporary masters had a profound effect on her art, culminating with six arduous months of intense training in France with Ted Seth Jacobs, founder of the artistic style known as restructured realism. A passionate wanderer, Debra has found inspiration living in many different environments. Her favorites include New York City, Taos, New Mexico, and her beloved Greek island, Poros, where she spent two years painting the local landscape and people and renovating an old, stone shepherd's cottage. Debra has painted professionally for over thirty years. Her murals are in numerous casinos from coast to coast. Her paintings have been featured on many magazine covers and are shown in galleries around the world. Her collector list includes Ferrari-Carano Winery, Atlantis Resort in Dubai, Hilton Corporation, Loews Resorts and Hotels and Circus Circus Hotels and Casinos. A popular teacher at Sedona Art Center, she has also taught in Taos, N.M. and Idyllwild, CA. Debra currently lives, paints and teaches in California's Central Coast. Listings wanted.
