Risk employs tools of destruction to create intriguing and iconic imagery. Referencing the near epidemic proportions of gun violence in America and tragedies within our school systems, these works reflect a basic moral vacuum and the incidental damage affecting contemporary society. A self-taught artist, Risk frequently experiments with epoxies and resin, while incorporating images of guns, targets and silhouettes into his work. A complicated narrative is often implicit in these multi-layered pieces.
