Irene Monat Stern

She took classes at the New York School for Social Research, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Irene Monat Stern created large stained abstract canvases featuring overlapping veils that look like creases; the outward billow of her variegated forms often resembles floral blossoms as they add a spatial dimension unusual in color field paintings.
