"Letter 1973" by Italo Scanga - 🔥🔥🔥1973 Limited Edition Lithograph - Inquire - A Real Steal - Blue Chip
Art Brokerage: Italo Scanga Italian Artist: b. 1932- 2001. Scanga came to live in the United States when he was a teenager and yet, his Italian heritage imbues his work, especially in his subject matter. We see statues, ancient pottery, cypress trees, and lush Italian landscapes. In addition, his use of color and shimmering light effects are magnificent. According to curator Paul Tomady: "Italo Scanga draws upon a wealth of material meshing memories with objects to form seductive patterns of recollection and re-creation. His work is best seen cumulatively, as disjointed but richly embroidered autobiographical fiction. Although primarily a sculptor, his work is much sought-after in every medium he explores because his honest, starkly emotional, often playful style translates to any material without distortion."
Looking for a nude, a early picture according to his wife Lynn. It is of a young woman with golden blond hair, sitting on a blue valor quilt holding a black cat with white paws up against her chest. The cats right leg is hanging over her breast exposing a small portion of only one of her breast. There is a pure white cat on the valor quilt looking up at her.
Original Painting originally titled "Interior with Flowers" but likely titled "Blue Kitten" when sold to Boston, Mass. gallery 2008. Had been in my family for 40+ years.
