Art Brokerage: Ivo Bisignano Italian Artist: Ivo Bisignano is an artist and fashion archaeologist who uses different mediums, combining nostalgic inspiration with pure projection, visual and productive. Among his latest works: illustrations for Prada "Minimal Baroque", the "Poupettes" for Fratelli Rossetti (Salone del Mobile 2011), the special project "Catwalk for Knife, Fork & Spoon" with the text by Mariuccia Casadio from Vogue Italia (Salone del Mobile 2012) and "The Animal Portraits" for Missoni (Saint Petersburg – July 2012). He won the special animation prize at ASVOFF IV edition, with the short animated film, "Exercise In Sartorial Depravation". 2015 étonne-Moi Exhibition in Plasma Plastic Modern Art - Milan and Vocabolario della Moda exhibition in Triennale Milan. 2017 Resident Artist winner in Pavia with sculpture Ticinum Opera. Originally from Sicily, and trained as an architect, Ivo Bisignano is an artist with many different souls. Beginning with fashion illustration early in his career, he has gone on to make significant contributions in media ranging from sculpture to painting to video and animation. A distinctive and consistent note throughout his work is a poignant sense of nostalgia, applied to characters both real and imaginary, and often linked to references from world literature and cinema. With an often surrealistic atmosphere, Bisignano's art is also imbued with a strong sense of play and irony, evoking an aesthetic of past and highly detailed worlds. His methodology ranges from drawings made with crayons and wax to the most complex, technologically advanced 3D illustrations. Bisignano's extensive work in the fashion industry has taken him all over the world, and has included collaborations with Prada, Missoni, and Fratelli Rossetti. In 2017 he won the artist's residence of the Ar.Vi.Ma. Civica Scuola d'Arte of Pavia, designed by Silvia Ferrari Lilienau, with its Ticinum Opera. Bisignano's meeting and subsequent work with renowned chef Yotam Ottolenghi has led to the realization of numerous collaborative projects, including sculptures for many of Ottolenghi's London restaurants (including interiors for the newest, Rovi), exclusively designed products for Christmas 2017, as well as a complete line of tableware in linen.
