Art Brokerage: Jeff Tabor American Artist: Jeff Tabor is one several local artists that we show on a regular basis in the gallery. He paints with strong colors and his paintings have a somewhat surreal quality. A native of New Mexico, much of his past has been spent painting southwest landscapes. As of late however, he has focused more on local subjects which translates to a fresh departure from the more traditional New England landscape painting. Tabor's first love, of course, is painting. He was born in Clovis in 1951. Tabor and his family spent two years in the Republic of South Africa as missionaries, and then he taught painting, drawing and design for nine and a half years at Abilene Christian University. As a teacher, he said, he did a little bit of every medium because you can't assign your students to do something and not try it yourself. He's still fond of collage and watercolor, but oil and acrylic are his favorite media, and landscapes his favorite subject. Listings wanted.
