John DeAndrea - United States
Art Brokerage: John DeAndrea American Sculptor: b. 1941. John De Andrea was born in Denver, Colorado on November 24, 1941. He had his first one-man show at the O. K. Harris Gallery in New York in 1970. He rapidly developed a style of casting and then painting fiber-glass or polyvinyl acetate sculptures of figures from life. John DeAndrea's works were shown in museums and major expositions in Europe early in his career. He rapidly developed a style of casting and then painting fiber-glass or polyvinyl acetate sculptures of figures from life. The sculptures are usually of one or two young, elegant and casually posed nude figures, usually female, as in Classical Illusion. The high degree of realism is heightened by the coloration of the sculpture. In Classical Illusion the model, posing dispassionately, is casually draped over an idealized classical male nmarble torso. De Andrea deliberately evokes a response from the viewer through the positioning and placement of the figures. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
