Art Brokerage: John Petrie Australian Artist: John "Johno" Petrie is an award winning Melbourne Artist and Sculptor who is trained in visual arts. His mediums are Acrylics on Canvas and Ceramic Sculptures. "Art is my way of expressing my concepts and perspectives in life. Life is full of images; through my art I try to capture the essence of those images on canvas and in my ceramic sculptures." John has works exhibited throughout Australia and New Zealand. With a unique eye for color, he regularly creates privately commissioned color-inspired, eclectic paintings. John's latest works are on display at Gallery One88 Fine Arts in the Blue Mountains of NSW. John began his creative career working as a window dresser in Melbourne & Sydney. He was much sought after in the retail sector working in the fashion and jewelry trade and designing promotional displays for Airlines and major tourist events. John expanded into hospitality where his creative prowess was used in the presentation of functions and banquets. John's work brings a quality of rawness seeking out the boundaries of "Mentalism" - a new art movement by John Petrie. John believes that the mind is the only true reality and objects of knowledge exist solely as aspects of the mind's awareness. As no man can enter the same river twice, all phenomena exist as temporary, fleeting projections within the mind of the perceiver, in an eternal now.
