Born in Spain, Climent had his artistic training at the Academies of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia and San Fernando in Madrid, the city where he was part of the "Iberians" group. He worked as an illustrator for the magazine Black and White until 1924, then moved to Paris, where he remained for two years painting scenes of the city. During the Spanish Civil War, he made several posters and illustrations for the Republican side and participated in the Spanish Pavilion of the Paris Exhibition of oil paintings. He was forced to emigrate to Mexico at the end of the war. His work is partly figurative and predominantly still life, and goes from academic realism to abstraction in his later years.
