Art Brokerage: Jorge Marin Mexican Artist: Born on September 22, 1963 in Uruapan, Mexico he went on to study graphic design at the National School of Plastic Arts in Mexico and art restoration at the National School of Conservation, Restoration, and Museology Jorge Marín is a Mexican sculptor best known for his depictions of mythical creatures, including centaurs and masked angels. He often works in oxidized bronze and mixed metals, giving his work an industrial aesthetic. In his piece Estudio de Cabeza de Ángel, the artist sculpts the bust of a disfigured man with decaying skin and a large beak, reminiscent of mythological characters. "I wanted to share with a major audience one of my obsessions, which is the possibility of going beyond our physical limitations," he said of his work. "Metaphorically, we can fly to the place we wish to." Listings wanted.
