Leonardo Benatov - France
Art Brokerage: Leonardo Bernatov French Artist: b. 1942-2018. Born in Neuilly sur Seine on February 11, 1942, Leonardo Benatov was a contemporary French painter and sculptor, who died in 2018 in Chevreuse. Coming from a family of artists, son of the writer Livja Flood and the painter Leonardo Benatov, his passion for the fine arts developed very quickly. A multi-medium artist, it was in statuary that he made a name for himself. Human anatomy is the main subject in his creation, from the figurative to the abstract, the sculptor juggled with elegance in his modelling which often expresses a powerful and brutal feeling. His artistic career is inseparable from his activity as a world-renowned art founder. Thus, in the 80s he laid the first stone of his Airaindor Valsuani foundry, in which gigantism rubbed shoulders with the great artists of the twentieth century. Benatov is best known these days for casting bronze sculptures from 74 plasters attributed to Edgar Degas that he found when he bought the Valsuani Foundry in 1981. Listings wanted.
