Michael Ross

Art Brokerage: Michael Ross American Artist: Michael Ross calls himself a "roughest expressionist". He combines his landscapes with both representation and abstract images. He has an open palette and loves complex combinations of color and loves to invent new blends and hues. His large paintings are alive with stripes of color, placing strokes where grass or flowers would be. Michael admits that as much paint ends up on his floor as on his canvas. "I have always admired the spontaneity of the performing artist; and my work is strongly influenced by music." Ross sometimes uses bright colors to demand attention. And, many times, will use a symbolic reference from history to achieve a mood. Heavily influenced by Abstraction and Impressionists, he places great importance in brush strokes and texture.
