Art Brokerage: Rhoda Baer American Glass Artist: Her ongoing work with laminated optical glass is as much about solving a puzzle as it is about the finished form. When starting a new piece, she often begins by playing with laminated color blocks. She builds each piece slowly often changing the color, location or direction of the lamination and the shape of the piece. It's a complicated process but, walking around one of her evolving sculptures, she is energized by the way the tones move, forming colors that blend, disappear and reappear. It is this precise manipulation of color and form -- one influencing the other - that takes her to the coffee pot and then the studio first thing in the morning. Listings wanted.
