Art Brokerage: Richard Pankratz American Artist: Long admired and world renowned for his design driven sculpture and furniture, Richard Pankratz comes from humble beginnings growing up in a small, rural Kansas town. Following his calling from an early age, he went on to receive a degree in art and education at the Kansas City Art Institute. After a decade of teaching, he shifted gears to pursue his passion working with clay and creating. Richard would become no ordinary artist. He took this art form to the nth degree, incorporating wood and metal for eye-catching vessels and figurative sculptures. He says he discovered that the "mood of the artist is communicated in physicality during production, and the qualities of the energy of creation are transmitted and frozen into the inanimate material Richard Pankratz has spent more than half his life creating and is well known for his striking fountains, furniture and sculptures. Each piece has the ability to arouse interest, due to the overriding influence of design. Ranging in scope from two story high ceramic wall sculptures to diminutive bronze figure sculptures, the components of his design can be easily recognized, even though all of the individual elements of the pieces – including the space they occupy – are radically different.
