Art Brokerage: Valentina DuBasky American Artist: b. 1951. Valentina DuBasky is an American visual artist who was born in 1951. Valentina DuBasky explores the relationship between ancient, totemic art and contemporary sensibilities. She has traveled along the Silk Route in China, India and Central Asia and throughout Southeast Asia to research Buddhist cave paintings and ancient art for her own modern-day, cave-wall paintings. DuBasky 's paintings and prints have been included in 39 one-person exhibitions and 117 group exhibitions nationally and internationally. DuBasky has created fine art monoprints and lithograph with with Tandem Press (2013), monoprints and etchings with Pelavin Editions, Ltd. (1984-2008) and a mixed media lithograph with Solo Press (1983). In 2013, DuBasky was accepted as a Fulbright Specialist Roster Candidate. Grants and awards include an Artist in Residence Grant from Pang Mapha Highland Archaeology Project in Northeast Thailand in 2006; an Environmental Artist in Residence Grant from the Teaneck Creek Conservancy in 2003; a Visiting Artist Grant in Latvia nand Estonia from the Art in Embassies Program, US Department of State, in 2002; an Individual Artist Grant from The Puffin Foundation in 2002; an Artist in Residence Grant at Silpakorn University from the United States Embassy, Bangkok in 2001; an Individual Artist Grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation in 1999; an Individual Artist Grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation in 1986; and an Individual Artist Grant from the Ariana Foundation for the Arts in 1984. DuBasky 's paintings and prints are included in numerous public collections including the Orlando Museum, the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, the Newark Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University, Pew Charitable Trust Collection, Prudential Collection, IBM Collection, Fuzhou International Center in China and in private collections in Europe, Asia and the Mideast.
