Art Brokerage: Vincenzo Musardo Italian Artist: Born in Salento, Musardo completed his studies in Lecce. When still very young, he moved to Charleroi in Belgium, where he made further progress in his art education by attending the Accademia di Belle Arti (Fine Arts Academy) as auditor, while working as designer and sculptor in the workshops of Gres-Guerin and Dubois in Bouffiouls. He produced a clay sculpture for the Queen Fabiola and had exhibits at Europac in Bruxelles at the Palais des Congres of Liege; at the Grand Palace of Anversa; and at the Prix Italienne in Gilly (prize winner). In 1973 in Florence, an International Jury (Francois Apollinaire France, Antony Harris England, Schrieferes Germany awarded him III Michelangelo d Oro for a three-dimensional painting. Since then, the Artist physically remained in Italy where he devoted himself to teaching at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Foggia and Bari, and to the study of Archeology; but His Works, speaking the universal language of true art, keep crossing the national boundaries by going from Expo Mondiale of Seville in Spain in 92, to reach the Museo G.I. Katsigra of Larissa in Greece, in 99. From 2000 to the present, under the auspices of Artisse his successes have become well assured. Top private art collectors and public institutions purchase important works of this Artist, whose reputation keeps growing. The Paris Modus Gallery (Places des Vosges) has acquired the exclusive for France and reserved the right to bring it to SOFA (Sculpture Objects & Functional Art) of Chicago in November of this year. The Master from Salento, with his often invented finds, moves and pulls the observer along not only through space but also, and above all, through time; because with his works he succeeds in giving back new life to those witnesses of the past, giving them a new sense of being through his own way of looking at them. The artist offers himself as guide and teller of archaic elements of which he underlines their presence, the existence of which has marked centuries and millennia in the history of man; he brings back an ancient but always timely message; he makes symbols and images belonging to different times and cultures express the universal language that unites them and enables them to engage in a dialogue. He achieves all this through matter which he has so expertly worked that though on canvas, it acquires, tridimensionality, a volume that renders the description more vivid and makes the observer notice the strong emotionality that has accompanied the gestural expressiveness of the artist. This is the result of meta-archaic art, created and developed by Musardo starting in 1974, through which he makes himself archaic and highly imaginative bard of myth, a lonely and meta-archaic messenger of vanished Mediterranean civilizations (Paolo Levi, in I sogni tangibili di Vincenzo Musardo (Musardo's tangible dreams). Since 1977 he holds the Chair of the Cultural Heritage at the Academy of Fine Arts in Foggia and Bari. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
