Willem J. Lenssinck

Art Brokerage: Willem J. Lenssinck Dutch Artist: After the academy (1969-1972) he became a ceramics designer at 'Westraven', Utrecht. Since 1972 he works as an independent artist in his own studio (Utrecht). In 1985 he moved his studio to a former school building in Langbroek. From 1972 - 1987 he completes many monumental assignments for schools and companies, besides that he works as a sculpture with ceramics, bronze and wood. After 1987 he exclusively does free work. Light objects, furniture, in steel and glass. Main characteristic of his work is the influence of the Media of Contemporary Design on the shape of his bronze sculptures. Organic shapes are translated into technical ones by abstracting and stylizing. Willem Lenssinck says, that: "Spaciousness prevails over anecdotal values. We live in an era of science-fiction, without realizing that. I am a contemporary sculptor. By mastering techniques I am able to visualize my fantasies, in bronze or other materials."
