Noelito - Philippines
Art Brokerage: Noelito: Growing up in the Philippines, without the media or material diversion found in the West, six year old Noelito used an abundant creativity to occupy his days. Resources being scares, he painted on whatever was available. Pieces of an old wooded fence, scraps of paper and burlap bags were is first canvases. Noelito is self-taught, but not unstudied. He draws his inspirations and style from the works for Rembrandt and the earlier Flemish innovators. Noelito employs a technique called Chiaroscuro, or contrasting light and shadow effects, to achieve the dramatic balance between the elements in his paintings and Glazings, applied oil paints in superimposed translucent layers, attaining the rich, glowing colors of his magical moonlit skies and brilliant sunsets. Noelito's paintings have always sought to capture the intangible elements of his subject. Evoking his natural talents to create, works infused with movement, romance, mystery and emotion. Yes, he paints seascapes but to him they are the windows on natures. Surrounded by the powerful Pacific ocean, first at home and later in Hawaii, Noelito has succeeded in capturing the energy and drama of its waves. Listings wanted.
