Through the artistic encouragement of a high school teacher, Hessam discovered both his love of art and his own talent. As a result, the fifteen-year-old Hessam became obsessed with painting. In his chosen medium of acrylic, he explores a realm the French have called "A statement in the fluidity of human figures". Given Hessam's many sketching trips throughout the world, it is no wonder that Hessams' works, which are exhibited in Asia, Europe, and North America, have been described as taking the onlooker into a world of suggestion and mystical beauty where everything is alive with a sense of everlasting motion.
