Story / Additional InfoThis hand-signed and numbered piece is based on a true incident from Byerley’s youth. Byerley and his childhood friend were assigned the task of squeezing the lemons for the neighborhood summer lemonade stand. The older kids showed Byerley and his friend how you could get more juice out of a lemon if you rolled it between your palms before squeezing. Being too small to be effective with the palm squeezing method, Byerley did the next best thing. This incredibly detailed artwork depicts a young Byerley stepping on lemons to obtain juice for his neighborhood’s lemonade stand. Byerley is known for creating images that capture cherished moments from childhood. Viewers feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia when observing his artworks. “Add Water and Stir†is an example of Byerley’s talent to create timeless images that collectors have come to appreciate.
