Bob Mackie

Art Brokerage: Bob Mackie American Artist and fashion designer: b. 1938. Bob Mackie was born in Sunderland, England in 1938, and moved to the Caribbean as a young teenager; first to Jamaica and later to Trinidad & Tobago, where he settled, married his wife Dina and raised three children. Mackie lived in the southern Caribbean (the place he still calls home) for over 40 years, migrating to Redondo Beach, California in the mid-90s. The Caribbean influence is till very apparent in his work.n An accomplished multi-media artist, Mackie has held one-man exhibitions for the past 20 years in Trinidad and Tobago. Perhaps best known for his metal sculpture, he has exhibited his pieces throughout the Caribbean and in London. Mackie also works in watercolor, acrylic and oil painting, paper collage and cold enameling (cloisonné). Due to a continuous demand for his work in the Caribbean, Mackie's Southern California exposure has been limited. His metal sculptures were first exhibited in Gardena in 1996, where he took home a first place award. He has also exhibited in Torrance and Thousand Oaks, both times receiving special mention. He is most well known as being the costume designer for "Cher". Listings wanted.
