Clement Lemieux

Art Brokerage: Clément Lemieux Canadian Artist: He is a well known Canadian sculptor and painter, born in Lévis, Quebec, a suburb (across the St. Lawrence River) of his current home Quebec City. His most famous medium is vividly colored, highly polished, figurative and abstract wood carvings. He has also created abstract expressionist paintings in acrylics. The subjects of his sculptures include figures in movement, dancers, and family; and as an abstractionist - color, shape and texture. His styles are Fauvism*, Surrealism* and Abstraction*. Lemieux is a mostly self taught artist; however his previous jobs as a car body repairman and cabinet maker are often credited with informing and influencing his unique painting and woodworking skills. He has also attended sculpture classes. He's been exhibiting his work since the early 1990s and has been arnfull-time artist since about 2000. His first one man show was in 1993. He exhibited in the New York Art Expo for the first time inrn1994.
