David Schwarz

Art Brokerage: David Schwarz American Glass Artist: David Schwarz was born in Vancouver, Washington in 1952. He received his Associate in Arts and Science and Associate in Applied Science/Engineering Technology in 1977 from Clark College in Vancouver, WA. Schwarz went on to earn his BFA in 1979 from Central Washington University and a Master of Science/Glass in 1982 from Illinois State University under Joel Philip Meyers. He has an extensive exhibition history and has shown with Foster/White since 1983. Schwarz's work is featured in many books and journals and is part of both public and corporate collections in Washington and the US. Schwarz creates a hand blown orb then grinds facets into the thin layers of colored glass allowing the viewer to look inside the piece at the structure created by refractions of light. His new work breaks the boundaries he has created; his organically-shaped glass components seem to grow out of the surface of the orbs. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
