Frank Jakum - United States

Art Brokerage: Frank Jakum American Artist: I began drawing on the basement walls at about age 5 or 6. These were scenes from sci-fi movies like "The earth vs. the flying saucers" and "The giant claw". I also painted with water colors and when they ran out I stole my mothers cake dyes. About the third grade I learned about birds and began to paint them. This was about 1968 and my interest in this subject matter lasted to about 1980. The last works of this type were in acrylic wash on acid free museum mat board. I still have one of these of an ivory billed woodpecker on my living room wall. From about 1980 to 1984 subject matter was 19th century sailing ships. One of these was sold in an auction on E-bay in the secondary market. From about the mid 80s to 2003 I painted in what I call a "Neo -Impressionest manner". Then In 2003 I saw a small grainy picture that was not much bigger than a postage stamp in a book. It was a picture of a trash clogged storm drain by Idelle Weber. This painting resembled a photograph and the pursuit of this genre has occupied me since. Listings wanted.
