Art Brokerage: George Abend American Artist: 1922-1976. Abstract Expressionist, George Abend "developed a gestural, theatrical form of action painting, generally with an underpinning of natural forms" (Albright) in the 1950s and 1960s. He was one of the first visual artists to work with the environmental light and sound program, Vortex. Later in the 1970s he painted large abstract canvases designed to be installed as room-sized environments. Listings wanted.
