Story / Additional InfoFrom the artist: "A large imaginary planet, one of its satellites and in the foreground what appears to be a spaceship. Three elements to fill the large square support. Three as the perfect number of a world that goes beyond our human perception and to which it is right to leave the right space, the correct understanding. Space for the universe is an invitation to leave room for ideas, even those we don't agree with. Leaving the right space for a world outside ours and which has not yet been sufficiently investigated.Ivana Urso tells us about this world through color and shape. Circularity, a typical element of medieval philosophy like the "mundus", that is, of what is regenerated by turning, returns in the forms inscribed in the square, a harmonious form borrowed from classicism, in an endless search that embraces geometric norms with free forms, up to a use of chromatic material that becomes three-dimensional on the canvas, acting on parallel planes. In this creation, I explored the depth of space and matter with enamel and gilding, playing with abstraction to capture a universe that is both enigmatic and vibrant. The tension between the cosmic void and the fullness of the stars merges in a harmony of contrasts that stimulates the imagination and brings energy and emotion to every space it occupies."

Ivana Urso - Italy
Art Brokerage: Ivana Urso Italian Artist: b. 1978.Ivana Urso was born on December 17, 1978, in San Cataldo, a town in the province of Caltanissetta, Sicily. n. In 2017, Ivana Urso joined the "Pentastrattismo" Movement of Massimo Picchiami, a research and experimentation group of Italian contemporary artists, where she was able to express her talent and creativity in the abstract form, in a unique and personal way. Ivana Urso's works are mainly paintings that focus on the materiality of painting, creating a compact and real surface. She uses a mixed technique of acrylic on canvas with relief decorations, resins, watercolors, canvas gauzes, handmade papers, gold leaf, metallic paste, photographic or cardboard cutouts, lava dust, silver leaf. Her art stands out for its ability to make the work corporeal and material, interrupting its continuity, thus expressing her inexhaustible experimental will. With continuous research and discovery of materials, even the least common, Ivana Urso achieves surprising results that celebrate the impermanence of being, of being there, but which become a definitive imprint that the artist's creation gracefully returns. Ivana Urso's handmade paper is a rich, symbolic decoration, almost a decorative fabric that still recalls deep moods and suggestions. The dimension of memory is a constant theme in her works, evident from the constant presence of the book or the word. Through these elements, Ivana Urso tries to push the imagination and the viewer's gaze beyond the two-dimensionality of the canvas, breaking down a system of two-dimensionality and pragmatic observation. In recent times, Ivana Urso has expanded her field of artistic research rnfocusing on the planets and the moon, sources of inspiration for many of her recent works. In particular, she has created several works using the round shape, which represents for her the symbol of the universe and perfection. In these works, Ivana Urso once again uses mixed techniques with acrylic on canvas and relief decorations, but she has added the use of new materials such as marble powders and colored sands, which allow her to create three-dimensional effects and to simulate the surface of a planet or the moon. Ivana Urso's goal is to capture the essence and beauty of the universe, exploring the cosmic dimension through her art. Listings wanted.
