Her surfaces are often compared to computer monitors and video games, suggesting a fuzzy, digital screen blooming into its blurry pixel components. She has said that her abstractions usually have a specific reference point in her mind, either a place or an artist that influences her work, citing Piet Mondrian, Henri Matisse, Frank Stella, and Peter Halley, her teacher in graduate school, as examples.
